TANAKA, TAKATANI FALL IN Q’FINALS AT JR WORLD C’SHIPS


ANKARA (August 8) - Kotaro Tanaka and Sosuke Takatani each posted a pair of wins at 60kg and 74kg, respectively, but fell in the quarterfinals and missed out on a chance at the medal matches at the junior wrestling world championships.

Tanaka of Waseda University and Takatani of Takushoku University had to settle for ninth place overall on the first day of freestyle competition at the junior world meet.

Jumpei Kobayashi of Kansai University dropped a pair of matches at 50kg to eventual medal winners and Koichi Tokinobu of Nippon Sports Science University lost his only match 96kg, as both wrestlers finished further down the rankings.
