CURTAIN COMES DOWN ON JAPAN AT ASIA C'SHIPS

NEW DELHI (May 16) – The curtain came down on Japan on the final day of the Asian wrestling championships as each of Japan's three entries lost their opening matches and were eliminated after the quarterfinals.

The losses left Japan with a lone silver medal in the greco-roman competition at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, and a total of two gold, four silver and six bronze overall in the five-day continental championships.


Greco-roman

60kg – KURAMOTO, Kazuma (11th, 12 entries)
R1 – lost to Almat Kebispayev (KAZ), 0-2 (0-6, 0-3)
(Kebispayev lost in the quarterfinals, eliminating Kuramoto)


74kg – SUMI, Kosuke (13th, 13 entries)
R1 – lost to S. Uulutermirlan (KGZ), 0-2 (0-3, 0-4)
(Uulutermirlan lost in the quarterfinals, eliminating Sumi)


96kg – KITAMURA, Katsuya (9th, 9 entries)
R1 – lost to An Chang-Gun (KOR), 0-2 (0-1, 0-1)
(An lost in the quarterfinals, eliminating Kitamura)
